Out of an abundance of caution, a water boil advisory has been issued for the following areas:
- Chestnut Street south to the Hunger Coalition
- Riverside subdivision
- Glen Aspen subdivision
During the install of electrical equipment, a grounding rod punctured and cracked a main water line between Chestnut and Gannett Rd., along HWY 75.
Crews responded and isolated the break so the repair could be made. Due to the damage, a 36-inch section of pipe had to be replaced requiring the water to be turned off in that section. A complete loss of pressure ensued.
While the system does have a redundant line to reduce the impact, calls were received from Chestnut St. south to the Hunger Coalition, along with reports from Riverside and Glen Aspen subdivisions and the surrounding area.
Repairs have been completed, and crews have flushed the lines in the affected areas. Per DEQ regulations we are required to issue a boil advisory for the affected areas.
Samples will be collected first thing in the morning and sent for testing.

Durante la instalación de equipo eléctrico, una varilla de conexión a tierra perforó y agrietó una tubería principal de agua entre Chestnut y Gannett Rd., a lo largo de la autopista HWY 75.
Las cuadrillas respondieron y aislaron la ruptura para poder realizar la reparación. Debido a los daños, fue necesario reemplazar una sección de tubería de 36 pulgadas, lo que requirió cerrar el suministro de agua en esa zona. Esto provocó una pérdida total de presión.
Aunque el sistema cuenta con una línea redundante para reducir el impacto, se recibieron llamadas desde la calle Chestnut hacia el sur hasta el Hunger Coalition, además de reportes de las subdivisiones Riverside y Glen Aspen y las áreas circundantes.
Las reparaciones ya se han completado y las cuadrillas han purgado las líneas en las áreas afectadas. Conforme a las regulaciones del DEQ, estamos obligados a emitir un aviso de hervir el agua para las zonas afectadas.
Las muestras se recogerán a primera hora de la mañana y se enviarán para su análisis.
