FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The City of Bellevue has been awarded The Community Project grant by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health.
The purpose of the grant is to help the City unite community leaders and residents to create an outdoor public space that brings people together. The grant includes up to $85,000 in funding for an improvement to Memorial Park, plus technical assistance to the City and an event to celebrate the project.
Bellevue was the lone city chosen in 2025 for The Community Project grant, which was open to applications from Idaho cities that had completed the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health’s Community Health Academy.
Bellevue becomes the eighth Idaho city to receive the grant since 2022.
“We are excited to work with the City of Bellevue on The Community Project,” said Courtney Frost, Senior Program Officer, at the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health. “City leadership has stressed to us how important it is to be able to engage with residents and cultivate a strong sense of belonging in the city. This grant and process aims to do this through the creation of an outdoor public space based on the wishes of the community.”
The City of Bellevue already has begun working with the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation to start planning for meaningful community engagement opportunities.
The completed project will be based on input from Bellevue residents with guidance from professionals that will help the City engage residents to determine the design and functionality of the outdoor space in the City.
Mayor Christina Giordani mentioned, “Receiving the Community Project grant is an amazing honor and a well-deserved win for our city. These funds will help Bellevue to create a community driven vision for an outdoor space for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come.”
