The City of Bellevue would like to remind residents and visitors to stay aware and take precautions when living and recreating in mountain lion country. Idaho is home to a healthy mountain lion population, and while sightings are uncommon, these animals may occasionally travel through residential areas while following prey.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has provided a helpful brochure with important safety tips for protecting pets, livestock, and yourself, as well as guidance on what to do if you encounter a mountain lion. We encourage everyone to review the information and practice responsible wildlife awareness.
