BOIL WATER ADVISORY STILL IN EFFECT AS OF 11:45 AM THURSDAY
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent Boil Water Advisory in the City of Bellevue. The advisory was issued after an accidental break in a water valve occurred during a fire hydrant replacement project on 6th and Birch. Because water pressure in the system dropped below 20 psi, we were required to issue a precautionary boil water advisory (not order) and strongly recommended that all residents boil their water before consuming.
To get the word out as quickly as possible, we posted updates on the City’s website, around town, door to door in high impact areas and on our social media pages. We also sent CodeRED alerts and email notifications to residents. With our small staff and limited resources, we did everything possible to notify the community promptly and keep everyone informed.
As of yesterday, we sent out test samples for water safety and are waiting to hear back in order to lift the advisory. PLEASE BE ADVISED…THE WATER ORDER IS STILL IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We will keep residents informed as to when the advisory is lifted.
We understand that these disruptions are inconvenient, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked through this issue.
