This year’s pick is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Valley-wide events and book discussions will begin February 5, 2026, and will run throughout the month at all 4 libraries.
Written by 20-year-old Mary Shelley, Frankenstein is a landmark of Gothic horror and the first modern science fiction novel. It chronicles Victor Frankenstein’s disastrous decision to abandon the life he fashioned from scavenged remains, exploring the lethal price of scientific irresponsibility.
